Book Haul from Last Week 📚✨

1. Botchan by Natsume Sōseki – I’ve long admired Sōseki’s writing from afar, dipping into excerpts here and there. Finally holding this one feels special. It promises to be a brisk, insightful read — can’t wait to dive in!

2. Gopiya Dinachari by Sudha Murthy – My first ever book in Kannada! Though I grew up across India with Hindi/Sanskrit as my second language, I’ve always wanted to connect more deeply with Kannada. I can speak it, read the script (slowly!), and now I’m practicing daily with this charming children’s book to build fluency. This is about Sudha Murthy's pet dog called Gopi, written from the perspective of the dog.

3. White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky – Russian classics have a special place in my heart. I’m currently reading this one —philosophical and quietly beautiful so far.

I have been experiencing a bit of a reading slump recently. Hope to get out of it with this book. I have read Backman's A Man Called Ove and loved it- one of the most beautiful books I read. It has also been sometime since I read for leisure online. I hope that "The Answer Is No" would be just as beautiful as the previous work I have read.

How I Use My Weekly Work Planner:

This is my current A6 sized weekly work planner. I always used daily planners and never understood how to use it till I finally used it.

- On the Dated Side, I write my top 3 priorities of that day.
- On the Undated side, I write my Master to do list.
- If something task crops up, even if it takes a few seconds to complete, it first goes on to the master to do list before I actually get down to doing it. If the task is a priority, I move it to the day it needs to get done.
- Allocate a planned completion date for the tasks on the master to do list.The idea is to complete all items on the master to do list in the same week, as much as possible. If it is not possible, it moves to the following week.
- Strike off tasks as and when they are getting done.
- Once a week or in a couple weeks, review the master to- do list to check if something hasn't got done. Block a "Power Hour" to get those things which have been put off in this Power Hour.

So far it is working well for me with hardly anything slipping through the cracks and I am managing to complete all the tasks as expected.

Plot Summary based on Study.com:

The Victorian novelist Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights follows a passion and love between Heathcliff and Catherine that turns destructive. With its setting in the windswept Yorkshire Moors, the story begins in 1801 told through the character of Lockwood, and moves to the 1770s in flashbacks. The two families in Wuthering Heights, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, are antithetical in values, showing free spirt and gentleness. However, they are connected through the marriage of Catherine Earnshaw and Edgar Linton. Catherine marries Edgar despite her passionate love for Heathcliff, inviting themes like social class, vengeance, and obsession into the plot. Without a natural outlet for his love to flow, Heathcliff leaves but later returns determined to destroy relationships. Catherine's memories haunt Heathcliff and nightmares trouble the characters. Through pathetic fallacy, the stormy moors augment the gothic and supernatural aspects of this novel. As the novel closes, Heathcliff is reminded of his love for Catherine through the love shown by Cathy and Hareton. The novel emphasizes love being redeemed through love itself.

Thank you so much @eaglediariesofficial for the lovely diaries. I recieved them in September this year but was unable to post earlier. A total of 4 diaries in all and each of them different from another.
1. The Tourist Diary (video on Slide 2) with the lighthouse cover is beautiful, with a monthly overview page at the beginning of every month and a day a page, even for weekends. Perfect for daily journalling.

2. Ambassador Authority Notebook (Video on slide 3) is a small size planner that would fit into most small sized handbags. It is primarily a weekly planner with monthly overview pages for all months at the beginning, followed by weekly planning pages. Additionally, there are several blank ruled notes pages at the end which can help jot down important points and ideas. I would most likely be using this one as my work planner.

3. Royal Diary (video on slide 4) is another small sized notebook that can be carried around in most small sized handbags. It is undated ruled notebook, perfect to jot down ideas.

4. Tourist Diary: Another diary, similar to the diary with the lighthouse cover but the difference is the soft cover and a detachable hard cover. I am tempted to use this for my daily journalling for next year. We have some time still this year so not in a hurry to decide.

Thank you so much @eaglediariesofficial for the lovely diaries. I recieved them in September this year but was unable to post earlier. A total of 4 diaries in all and each of them different from another.
1. The Tourist Diary (video on Slide 2) with the lighthouse cover is beautiful, with a monthly overview page at the beginning of every month and a day a page, even for weekends. Perfect for daily journalling.

2. Ambassador Authority Notebook (Video on slide 3) is a small size planner that would fit into most small sized handbags. It is primarily a weekly planner with monthly overview pages for all months at the beginning, followed by weekly planning pages. Additionally, there are several blank ruled notes pages at the end which can help jot down important points and ideas. I would most likely be using this one as my work planner.

3. Royal Diary (video on slide 4) is another small sized notebook that can be carried around in most small sized handbags. It is undated ruled notebook, perfect to jot down ideas.

4. Tourist Diary: Another diary, similar to the diary with the lighthouse cover but the difference is the soft cover and a detachable hard cover. I am tempted to use this for my daily journalling for next year. We have some time still this year so not in a hurry to decide.

Back to posting after a really long time. I hope to be consistent at least now. I had taken a break from reading and posting to prioritize other events and work. I am glad that I have been very consistent with my reading off late and hope to keep it going. I am currently reading this book. Heard a lot of great things about this one. Will keep you posted when I make more progress!

I think when we are ready to read certain kinds of books, they just find us.I would run away from such books on philosophy and stoicism a few years ago but now I enjoy such books more than ever.
I love the concept of the book- read a page everyday and that is exactly what I have been doing since the beginning of this year. It is just enough and not too much or too little to read. I have supplemented my daily reading with this book and I have been loving it so far! Great book if you want to get started with reading. However, you would have to want to really read this kind of material to appreciate it.

A late night post but it was about time. I usually create my own planners or BuJos but 2024 is going to be an extremely busy year for me and I would most likely not have the time to create monthly spreads, weekly spreads etc. So, wanted to get a planner where I have everything I need set up already. I found whatever I needed in @thelifearoma_shop planner curated by @lifearoma_esha . While this planner is awesome, I will not be able to carry it to office (even though it is roughly 10 days a month) for two reasons:
1. A lot of personal stuff in it
2. It is kind of big and bulky
I would be using a simple work planner for my main office work too and for this I will be using an Eagle Diary and also be managed digitally on OneNote. More on this soon!

A few books I have read or re-read this year. A bit on the lower side but I have enjoyed reading most of them, except may be Murakami. It was my first Murakami and probably not the best choice to start reading Murakami...anyway, loved the reading experience of all others.

One of the most beautiful works of fiction that I have read in recent times. It is a story about life and love, and one that I highly recommend. This is a must read. The first few pages may seem slow but once the story begins, it is unputdownable! I also watched the movie made on the book called A Man Called Otto- it is not a bad movie but does not do justice to the book- more on that soon. For now, please pick this gem of a book and enjoy!
